Main Role: At GTU, we are proud to be part of the SturNet project, working together with international partners to help protect sturgeon species and support a healthier Black Sea ecosystem. Within the project, our main responsibilities include:
- Helping with research and data collection on sturgeon habitats and environmental conditions in the region.
- Supporting the creation of a digital mapping tool that shows where sturgeons live, migrate, and reproduce, using both current and past environmental data.
- Sharing our technical and scientific knowledge to build models that track sturgeon populations and assess the health of aquatic areas.
- Taking part in building the Transnational Sturgeon Network to spread knowledge and raise awareness across countries.
- Contributing to communication and outreach efforts, especially on topics related to environmental education and sustainability.
- Using our university’s research labs and facilities to support scientific studies and technical development throughout the project.
