Description: This article investigates the use of heat flow coefficients for long-term forecasting of the appearance dates of ice phenomena on the Dnipro River reservoirs. Based on data from 38 hydrological posts from 2000–2020, the authors analyze the correlation between atmospheric circulation indicators and ice formation dates. While the correlations were generally weak, the research highlights both the limitations of existing methods and the need to develop new predictive models adapted to contemporary climate variability. The study contributes to the understanding of ice regime dynamics and its implications for water resource management, energy production, and navigation.
