Description: The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the development of local ecological network schemes in 14 administrative districts of the Zaporizhzhia region. It addresses the challenges of integrating degraded and fragmented steppe ecosystems into a functioning ecological network. The authors propose using protected areas, river valleys, unplowed slopes, and eroded lands as structural and connective elements of the network. Recommendations include GIS-based mapping, inventory of nature reserve areas, and the strategic use of restoration zones for renaturalization.
